Support
Commission a piece
The house is clothed over time
Al-Munya was not furnished in one go by a decorator. It is clothed over time, by the work of the neighbouring workshops and of the corporations of the medina.
This is the most direct form of support, and the only one a craftsman lives on: a commission. A hanging, a copper lamp, a door, a chest, a carpet, a painted cedar ceiling. The piece is made in Fez, by a hand that can be named, and it stays in the house.

How it works
You say what you wish to support
The house proposes the piece, the workshop and the time it will take.
The times are those of the trade
They are counted in months, and nothing is gained by pressing them.
Every piece is documented
The workshop, the master, the date, the material.
The repertoire
Few pieces, few colours, matt surfaces. The motifs that return on the walls and the textiles belong to a repertoire that already made the journey from the Islamic Mediterranean to Venice, and that comes back.
What a commission produces, beyond the object
Workshop hours paid at the price of the trade, an apprentice working on a real piece rather than an exercise, and a house that fills with things made next door.
