House of the beginning
Dar al-Bidaya
دار البداية
Dar al-Bidaya (“house of the beginning”) is one of the two houses inside Al-Munya. It hosts without charge: the costs fall on Al-Munya, the company that holds the body.
It is not An-Nudama. The ninety-nine founders keep a distinct fund that finances the House; they do not lodge here.
What it is
Free hospitality, offered and not sold. It exists in Fez, beside Riad Al-Uns, and in Sicily, beside Al-Funduq as-Siqilli, under the same name and the same rule: no tariff, no list, no right acquired by a membership fee.
Whoever is received here is received because the house decides so, never because he has paid an entrance share or because he sits in a majlis. The separation from An-Nudama keeps hospitality from becoming a members’ privilege.
Apprentices on trial sleep in the dormitories of the House — Riad or Funduq — never in Al-Munya. Dar al-Bidaya is not a training wing and does not duplicate the dormitories next door.
What it is not
- Not the lodging of An-Nudama members.
- Not a priced suite or a hotel extension.
- Not a right bought with a founder’s contribution.
